Shirley King's early employment background was in the corporate world as a personal assistant for a major oil company. She traded her professional career to become an adventurer and sailed the oceans with her husband and two sons for many years. Her patient personality and strong work ethic was an essential ingredient in home schooling her children. Consequently she became the V.P. of Spirit of Adventure Sailing Cruises. With her keen organizational skills, detail-oriented nature and love for antiques, she was inspired to start a large antique import and retail businesses. But it was her love of writing that was the essential ingredient for turning The Unsinkable Spirit adventure book series into a reality.
